Essential New Born Care Advice
- Exclusive breast feeding till 6 months.
- Keep baby warm, proper burping after feeding
- Immunization as per IAP schedule (BCG, OPV, HEp B withing 15 days)
- Vaccination against Diarrhea (rotavirus), DPT, HIV, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Pneumonia, M. MR, Chicken Pox should be taken in time.
- Do not use Kajol/Mustard oil on baby
- Daily bath with lukewarm water after 14 days (Do not bathe the baby in any way for the first 7 days) (The baby should be bathed in lukewarm water after 14 days age, only wipe the body before that.)
- Consul Pediatrician S.O.S. – if baby turns – 1. Yellowish (Jaundice) 2. Blueish (Cyanosis) 3. Refusal to suck mother breast milk 4. Something abnormal
